Lena Knilli was born in Graz in 1961. She studied painting at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin and at the Academy of Applied Arts in Vienna with Maria Lassnig. Her work has been exhibited in Vienna, Graz, Prague, Brno, Ljubljana and the USA. After many years in Prague (1992 to 2001) she lives and works in Vienna again today.
