Lena Knilli was born in Graz in 1961. She studied painting at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin and at the Academy of Applied Arts in Vienna with Maria Lassnig. Lena Knilli works as a visual artist in Vienna. She is interested in the starting points for individual development, the dimensions of perception, and the questions that arise from them. Color, brushes, pencils, and paper serve as instruments of investigation in their materiality. Knilli combines drawing and painting with audio and video. Her installations can be perceived as three-dimensional collages. Her work has been exhibited in Austria and abroad.
